I love homemade granola! Its cheaper to have if your on a budget and you can control how much sugar is in it. Which is key if you are on a particular diet or restricting certain nuts or nuts in general. I first made granola on my own about a decade ago. I wasnt even plant based then but tried it! It was so easy. Now that I’m doing things more budget friendly and vegan friendly, I love how I can incorporate flax seed, applesauce instead of granulated sugar and more! It taste so good and so versatile.
Baking tips:
If the nuts I choose are ones you don’t like or dont have or can’t have you can easily swap it out for any other nut or seed.
If your mixture is too mushy, add more rolled oats.
If your mixture is too dry add more honey or applesauce
If you want your granola crunchier, then bake it for longer
If you like it sweeter add more honey!
Its as simple as that. Granola is what you put into it! Make it your own! Use this recipe as your starting guide. Im always making new creations with my granola depending what I have in the pantry. I don’t think I make the same granola twice!! haha
